How to Keep Your Natural Teeth Your Whole Life Long

Posted on 2/10/2019 by Boeckel
How to Keep Your Natural Teeth Your Whole Life LongWe all want to keep our smiles around forever. A healthy smile is good for self-esteem, social interactions, and a vital part of our health. How can we go about smiling naturally for the rest of our life?

It Starts At Home
The most important step is one that hopefully you are already engaging in! The best way to keep your natural teeth is to take care of them from an early age, and get into the habit of routine, daily oral hygiene.

To keep your smile at its best, you should brush at least twice a day, rinse your mouth after every meal (and certain drinks!), and floss daily. Avoid "dangerous" foods and drinks, those which are high in sugar and acid, and be sure to drink your calcium-fortified milk and eat your potassium-enriched vegetables! By doing so, you will lay the necessary foundation that we will help build off of for decades to come, with every appointment.

It Continues Here
But taking care of your teeth and maintaining your oral health is only one part of the process. There are many diseases, disorders, and injuries that you cannot plan for properly without guidance, which we provide with every visit. Whether a tooth has fully come out, or there is just a little bit of inexplicable discoloration, coming in for your routine visits is how we diagnose potential problems and help you come up with a sustainable preventative care plan to defeat them.

Both in your home and in our office, caring for your smile should always be the number on priority! Give us a call today and schedule an appointment to come in. Come see what we can do to help keep you smiling for the rest of your life!
